[Bali Elementary School Second Session] LEGO Takes Flight

This year’s summer camp took flight with an “airplane” theme, and even our LEGO design classes soared with STEAM learning. Younger campers built mini LEGO helicopters, the perfect way to get hands-on with science and engineering basics. The middle group experimented with wind-powered LEGO planes, testing how design changes affected flight and discovering the principles of propulsion in action. Our older campers rose to the challenge of building LEGO Apache helicopters, working with complex parts and power features that mirrored real aircraft. Every project blended creativity with engineering, problem-solving, and teamwork—showing kids that STEAM learning can be just as exciting as play. With LEGO as their runway, our campers let their imaginations take off and learned that the sky is truly the limit!

[Bali Elementary School Second Session] Hands-on, Minds-on

At “I am the Future,” what matters most to us is giving kids the chance to step away from their screens and rediscover the simple joy of creating with their own hands. During this year’s DIY time, the children built two delightful projects: a spinning carousel and a candy gift box full of surprises. Watching them focus as they assembled and decorated—turning imagination into something real—was truly inspiring. And when their creations came to life, the pride and joy shining in their eyes said it all. Along the way, they shared ideas, learned from one another, and discovered new sparks of creativity. This wasn’t just about making crafts—it was about practicing focus, building confidence, problem-solving, and letting their creativity flow. Through activities like these, we hope kids realize that life is full of things far more exciting and meaningful than a screen, just waiting for them to explore.

[Bali Elementary School Second Session] Fly, Fly, Fly to the Sky

This session was led by two mentors Josh and Brian from the Taipei American School Drone Club. One of them, Josh, is not only our team captain but also runs our LEGO program, and we were thrilled that he invited his clubmates to join the fun. The lesson kicked off with “Magician of the Sky,” who walked students through how drones are made and how the technology has evolved. Then “Wings Through Time” shared the fascinating story of how airplanes first came to be. To top it off, they brought two drones for a live flight demo, giving the kids an up-close look at the machines in action and a chance to see exactly how drones are built and operated. The excitement and energy in the room made it a truly unforgettable experience!

[Bali Elementary School Second Session] Little Painters Take Flight

In this special class, the kids became little designers—first sketching their dream airplanes and then carefully folding them into one-of-a-kind paper planes. And then came the most exciting part! Captain Josh designed LEGO-powered automatic and manual launchers, giving every child the chance to send their creation soaring into the sky. As each plane whooshed across the room, the air was filled with cheers and laughter. Watching their own planes fly higher and farther than expected, the children’s faces lit up with pride and joy. This wasn’t just a craft project—it was a journey of imagination, creativity, and confidence-building. The session ended with plenty of smiles, laughter, and amazement, leaving everyone with a wonderful sense of accomplishment.

[Bali Elementary School Second Session] English in the Air

This year’s summer camp was built around the theme of “airplanes,” with English lessons that were both fun and practical, focusing on common conversations during air travel. Through role-plays and interactive scenarios, campers practiced checking in, ordering meals, and engaging in in-flight interactions—just like they were on a real trip. These activities helped them overcome shyness, speak up with confidence, and express themselves in English. We were also delighted to welcome several older students from Taipei American School (TAS) as mentors. They not only guided activities in class but also connected with the kids during breaks, serving as both role models and friends, which made the learning atmosphere warmer and more engaging. With this approach, children not only improved their speaking skills but also fell in love with English in a relaxed and joyful environment—discovering that learning can be both fun and rewarding.

[National Taiwan University Children Hospital] Join Us for Fun Children’s Day Activities!

Even with the drizzle and chilly weather, our passion for serving others never wavered. We believe that even the smallest act of kindness can bring warmth and hope to children. Just like every year, we visited NTU Children’s Hospital for Children’s Day, spending time with the kids and creating moments of joy through music and hands-on activities. The event kicked off with a beautiful piano performance, filling the hospital with a sense of peace and comfort. As the music played, the kids listened intently, their eyes lighting up with excitement and wonder. One of the biggest highlights was our carousel-making workshop, where the children eagerly put together and decorated their own miniature carousels. Parents stood by, watching with warm smiles as their little ones focused on their creations. And when the carousels were finally complete, the kids spun them with delight, watching as they twirled—almost like they were carrying their hopes and dreams into the future. Seeing their bright, happy smiles was the most rewarding part of the day. We may have only brought music and a simple craft activity, but the love and care we shared created something far more meaningful. Our hope is that this moment of joy stays with them, giving them strength and courage for the days ahead. Wishing all the kids a Happy Children’s Day! May your smiles never fade, may you always be happy and healthy, and may your future be full of endless possibilities!

[New Volunteer Recruitment] Passing on Love and Care, Working Together for the Future

This year, I am the Future Volunteer Team has made “new volunteer recruitment” a key focus, aiming to continue spreading love and care for new immigrants and underprivileged children. We hope to inspire more people to join this meaningful cause. As the event took place just before the Lunar New Year holiday, we conducted it virtually. Despite the physical distance, everyone’s enthusiasm and dedication remained strong, truly embodying the spirit of volunteerism. A heartfelt thank you to all the students from different schools who participated! Your involvement makes our team even stronger. We look forward to meeting in person soon and working together to bring more hope and warmth to the children in need.
